•  June 8, 2019 - June 9, 2019
     12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

On Saturday afternoon (June 8) we will have our annual Alumni BBQ and Swag Swap. Those who wish to stay for the night can join our Whiskey In The Woods event around the campfire.

Essentially, MDFI HQ will be open for all Alumni and family for the weekend. Feel free to arrive anytime after 5:00pm Friday and stay until Sunday evening. Saturday is the only day with an agenda of events. Friday and Sunday is just hanging out in the woods with good folks.

THE BBQ:

Saturday 12:00 – 5:00pm
THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT

MDFI provides the red meat, guests bring a dish to pass.

Although we hope some guests bring some soda or juice beverages to pass, please be prepared to bring a beverage of your choice. Water is available on site to fill water bottles. Alcoholic beverages are permitted IAW law and responsible drinking practices. Anyone drinking alcoholic beverages and carrying/handling firearms in any way, shape, or form will be asked to leave at a minimum. (One of those things that should not need to be said, but we need to say it.)

It’s a BBQ. Have fun with it. Be safe and responsible. Easy-peasy.

THE SWAG SWAP:

Saturday 12:00 – 5:00pm
THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT

Bring all gear and guns you want to sell and make some $$$. Please bring a table or blanket/tarp for the ground if you can. THERE IS NO SHOOTING AT THIS EVENT. Yes, we have a range on site but it is not to be used. There IS a public shooting area 1 mile away if you would like to test fire a gun prior to purchase. Aside from lawfully carried firearms (handguns only please) no firearm you bring to sell will be loaded in any way. ALL FIREARMS BROUGHT TO SELL WILL HAVE A ZIP TIE THROUGH THE ACTION OF THE FIREARM. (It’s a small/cheap task for a quick and visual way to make sure we are being as safe as possible.) All things* (as allowed by law) are allowed at the swag swap. There will be a donation bin for unwanted gun parts/accessories for the MDFI Alumni that you just can’t sell. The Made In Trexico and MDFI Swag Store will be open here as well.

THE WHISKEY IN THE WOODS:

Saturday Night 6pm – ????
GROWN UP TIME

Bring a sweatshirt, a stogie if you wish and and your favorite drink to enjoy as we relax and tell stories around the fire. This is grown up time. Nuff’ said.

As above, you drink – you don’t carry a firearm.

CAMPING ON-SITE: Friday and Saturday Nights

You are more than welcome to camp on the 10 acre property Friday and Saturday night. You can bring a RV, pop-up, or tent. Space for large vehicles is VERY limited. You might need to camp just down the road on state land if space runs out. There are no power or sewer hookups for any RV/pop-up or tent. Please plan accordingly and make sure that you can survive without running a generator for a night so not to disturb other folks. (Power for cell phones, etc is available at the house at limited outlets…but hey, you’re in the woods so get out of the Matrix for a day or two!) There is a campfire ring for all to use and a restroom on site.

FOR THOSE THAT DON’T LIKE CAMPING:

No worries! There are lots of cool little motels or AirBNB cabins around the area in Baldwin, MI. The nearest “Hotel” is Big Rapids which is about a 35 minute drive.

ANIMALS: Dogs are welcome, but they will need to stay tied up at your campsite or in an RV. Sorry. We cannot have any animals aside from canaries or goldfish near other guests due to past experiences. We certainly understand this may be a selling / not selling point for some, and for that we can not budge but do so with our apologies. Any pet that is brought, needs to be controlled (quiet) especially during camping hours.

For Those That Have Questions After Reading All Of This:

All good! Shoot us an email at info@trainMDFI.com and we will get you squared away!
